This is a USA Wrestling sanctioned event. However, all participants will receive a USA Wrestling membership free of charge, which covers the entire 2021-22 membership year (Sept. 1, 2021-August 30, 2022). This membership will allow each of these wrestlers to enter the New York State Girls Folkstyle Wrestling Championships and later other USA Wrestling-sanctioned competitions for the rest of the membership year.

All coaches will also be provided with a USA Wrestling Leader membership.

This tournament has been created to give New York high school girls a season-ending state championship. The goal of those partnering on this event is to continue to work towards getting girls wrestling added as a sanctioned high school sport by the NYSPHSAA in the near future.

Champions of this event will be recognized by USA Wrestling as girls state champions from New York, which qualifies them to compete in USA Wrestling National High School Recruiting Showcase in Las Vegas, Nev., April 28-29.
