Greco-Roman draws set for the 2021 Cadet World Championships

Budapest, Hungary – The Greco-Roman portion of the 2021 Cadet World Championships kicks off tomorrow with 48 kg, 55 kg, 65 kg, 80 kg and 110 kg all slated to wrestle through the semifinals. All ten weight classes received their draws this afternoon.

The Greco-Roman squad is bookended by Bo Bassett at 45 kg and Jim Mullen at 110 kg, who also competed in the men’s freestyle tournament, achieving immense success with Bassett bringing home a World title and Mullen claiming a silver medal.

Bassett faces a steep test in the first round, draw5ing Russia’s Ruslan Lukiaev. Mullen will square off with Germany’s Nikita Ovsjanikov, a 2021 Cadet European silver medalist.

At 48 kg, Otto Black will see Armenia’s Yuri Karapetyan, a 2021 U15 European champion.

51 kg features  Kaedyn Williams clashing with Iran's Abolfazi Shahraki Niya.

2019 World Team member Cory Land will represent the U.S. at 55 kg. Land drew Turkey’s Berati Inac, a 2021 Cadet European bronze medalist.

Brock Bobzien, a 2018 U15 and 2021 Cadet Pan Am champion in both styles, opens his tournament at 60 kg with Kazakhstan’s Bagdat Sabaz, a 2019 U15 Asian champion.

2019 U15 World Combat Games champion Jadon Skellenger’s first opponent at 65 kg is Rokas Cepauskas of Lithuania. Cepauskas is a 2019 Cadet European Championships fifth-place finisher and a 2019 Nordic Championships runner-up.

2019 U15 Pan Am champion in both styles Braden Stauffenberg mans 71 kg for the U.S. His first bout comes against Azerbaijan’s Ruslan Nurullayev, a 2021 Cadet European bronze medalist.

At 80 kg, 2021 Cadet Pan Am champion in both styles Ryder Rogotzke faces Mihael Salajec of Croatia, a ninth-place finisher at the 2021 Cadet European Championships.

Nathan Wemstrom, a 2019 U15 Pan Am champion in both styles, starts his tournament at 92 kg with Estonia’s Rasmus Liisma, a 2021 Cadet European 11th-place finisher.
