In accordance with Big 12 Conference sportsmanship principles, Commissioner Bob Bowlsby today issued a public reprimand of University of Oklahoma’s Josh Heindselman and Oklahoma State University’s AJ Ferrari for their actions following Sunday’s OU/OSU wrestling match. During the post-match team handshake line a scuffle ensued between the two wrestlers.
Stated Bowlsby, “The basic tenet of sportsmanship dictates that competitors compete hard, and following the competition, treat one another with respect. What occurred between student-athletes Ferrari and Heindselman fell well short of that expectation and has no place in sports, at any level.”
