No. 7 Ohio State earns 30-7 win over No. 22 Pittsburgh in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 7 Ohio State (4-0) cruised to a 30-7 win over No. 22 Pittsburgh (3-2) Sunday at the Covelli Center to remain undefeated in dual competition this season.
How it Happened
125 | No. 14 Mailk Heinselman (OSU) vs. No. 25 Cage Curry (PITT)
Neither wrestler was able to score in the opening period. Curry recorded the first point with an escape to start the second. Heinselman took the lead with a takedown with 30 seconds to go before Curry escaped to make it 2-all heading into the third period. Heinselman chose down to start the final two minutes and escaped then recorded a takedown near the end of regulation for the 5-2 win by decision.
133 | Dylan Koontz (OSU) vs. No. 6 Micky Phillippi (PITT)
Phillippi led 4-2 after the first period on a pair of takedowns and two Koontz escapes. There was no scoring in the second period before a Phillippi third period escape, takedown and back points made it 11-2 Phillipi, who then finished off the match on top by major decision, 14-3.
141 | No. 24 Dylan D’Emilio (OSU) vs. No. 16 Cole Matthews (PITT)
After no score following the first three minutes, Matthews got on the board with an escape to start the second. D’Emilio did the same to start the third to tie it at 1-all. He then recorded a takedown and cut Matthews loose for the 3-2 lead. Matthews and D’Emilio were each called for stalling giving D’Emilio the win by decision, 4-3.

Sasso recorded a takedown less than a minute into the match then another with back points to lead 8-1 after three minutes. He led 15-3 after two periods and went on to win by technical fall, 22-6.
157 | Jashon Hubbard (OSU) vs. No. 30 Elijah Cleary (PITT)
Hubbard scored first to start the second period with an escape and led 1-0 heading into the third. Hubbard earned a riding-time point in the third to win 2-1 by decision.

Kharchla scored the first takedown to lead 2-1 heading into the second. Wentzel tied it at 2-all with an escape to start the second. Kharchla broke the tie with a takedown in the third and after a Wentzel escape it was 4-3 Buckeyes for the win by decision.

Romero led 3-0 after the first period with a takedown and an awarded stalling point. The lead grew to 6-2 for Romero after two periods. The bout ended with a major decision win for Romero, 10-2
