Lindquist Finishes Weekend with Two Titles; Repeats in 16U Boys at Folkstyle Nationals

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Max Lindquist capped off his perfect weekend with his second national title after winning the 100-pound 16U Boys crown at the 2026 USA Wrestling 16U & Junior Folkstyle Nationals at The MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex.

On Saturday, Lindquist captured the Junior title at the same weight. Sunday featured Lindquist earning an 8-0 major decision in the championship match to close out the week with five victories. He finished with two pins, one technical fall, one major decision and one decision win.

2023 12U Triple Crown winner Jeremiah Hayes started his run to a second Triple Crown after winning the 144-pound title. Hayes racked up 21 points in the final to score the 21-3 technical fall in the third period. Hayes posted three technical falls and a pin over his four matches.

At 165 pounds, Harrison Murdock teched his opponent in the championship after hitting the 20-point mark in a 20-3 battle.

Johnathan Thompson won his title bout in just 1:01 after rattling off 15-straight to post the technical fall. At 132 pounds, Jeffrey Dunaway was the final wrestler to win his national championship by tech fall, 17-2.

Caden Woodall (150 pounds), Dresden Beard (175 pounds) and Traycen Wegele (190 pounds) each pinned their championship opponents to win their national titles.

Lucas Stirling, who finished sixth at 120 pounds, led the 16U Boys division with five pins over his eight bouts.

The lone round robin bracket at 285 pounds went to Sawyer Schendel after going 4-0 in the tournament.

Rounding out the national champions in the 16U Boys division were Colton Wiseman at 88 pounds, Carter Smith at 106 pounds, Noah Thomas at 113 pounds, Roman Tuttle at 120 pounds, Patrick Pina III at 126 pounds, Marco Costa at 138 pounds, Jaimon Mogard at 157 pounds and Leland Havens at 215 pounds.
