Brackets Set For 2026 Explore Asheville SoCon Wrestling Championships

SPARTANBURG, SC – The Southern Conference released seeding for the 2026 Explore Asheville SoCon Wrestling Championships Wednesday. The championship is set to begin on Friday, March 6, and wrap up on Saturday, March 7. 

Tickets for the event are available here, including mat-side VIP seating for the finals on Saturday. Winners in all 10 weight classes will receive an automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships in Cleveland, OH.

App State enters the weekend with three consecutive championships in tow under head coach JohnMark Bentley. The Mountaineers, Chattanooga, and The Citadel each won a share of the 2025-26 regular season title. There was also a three-way tie for fourth place in the regular season standings between Bellarmine, Davidson, and Gardner-Webb.

Chattanooga leads the way for four tops seeds, followed by App State (2), and The Citadel (2). Davidson and Gardner-Webb claimed one top seed each.

Action begins Friday at 10:00 am inside Kimmel Arena on the campus of UNC Asheville. A clear bag policy is in effect for the facility. Saturday’s wrestling begins at 10:00 am with the consolation semifinals. Finals are set to begin at 3:00 pm on Saturday.
