NWCA Division I Men's Coaches Poll for February 3, 2026

Manheim, Pennsylvania – A crowd of over 10,000 saw Oklahoma State beat rival Iowa State on Sunday at Gallagher-Iba Arena 24-9 which elevated the 12-1 Cowboys to No. 3 in the most recent NWCA Division I Men's Wrestling Coaches Poll released Tuesday.
 
Oklahoma State won the first six bouts and cruised to their second victory of the weekend over an Iowa school. The Cowboys beat then-No. 13 Northern Iowa 34-3 on Friday.
 
Top-ranked Penn State stayed unbeaten with a 26-12 win over then-No. 6 Nebraska. The win moved Penn State to 12-0 this season and unbeaten in the Nittany Lions' last 83 dual meets. Second-ranked Ohio State went 2-0 with wins over then-No. 17 Wisconsin, 30-10, and No. 10 Michigan, 26-16.
 
Iowa State did come out of Oklahoma with one win, beating then-No. 21 Oklahoma, 29-10. Minnesota earned a 21-16 win over then-No. 4 Iowa, the first Minnesota win over Iowa since 2014. The win vaulted the Gophers up three spots to No. 6. Virginia Tech defeated then-No. 8 NC State, 21-12 in the annual scrap between ACC rivals.
 
Michigan went 1-1 with a 38-4 win over Northwestern. No. 12 Pittsburgh earned a 22-9 win over then-No. 11 North Carolina. Illinois defeated then-No. 24 Indiana, 27-7, and Rutgers went 2-0 with wins over Maryland, 30-9, and Rider, 21-12.
 
South Dakota State went 2-0 with wins over Air Force, 37-5, and Northern Colorado, 31-10. Missouri defeated Little Rock, 33-9, and Lehigh beat Army West Point, 29-11. Oklahoma split its week with a 23-18 win over Northern Iowa. Oregon State returned to the Top 25 this week after a ranked win at Wyoming, 25-12, while Stanford defeated Cal Poly, 43-3.
 
A loaded weekend of conference action is ahead with several ranked matchups and road tests on the slate. Top-ranked Penn State heads to Ann Arbor on Friday to face 10th-ranked Michigan, while fourth-ranked Iowa travels to Columbus for a Friday night meeting with second-ranked Ohio State.
 
No. 6 Minnesota continues Big Ten play Friday at No. 17 Rutgers, and eighth-ranked NC State visits 12th-ranked Pittsburgh. Elsewhere Friday, 19th-ranked Missouri heads to No. 16 West Virginia, seventh-ranked Virginia Tech travels to Charlottesville to face Virginia, and Little Rock visits fifth-ranked Oklahoma State. Out west, Oregon State closes the night with a trip to Arizona State, while Air Force meets 25th-ranked Wyoming in Laramie.
 
Saturday's ranked action includes 22nd-ranked Indiana visiting 15th-ranked Wisconsin.
 
Sunday is highlighted by a rematch of two recent NWCA National Duals participants as 19th-ranked Northern Iowa travels to 14th-ranked South Dakota State. Also on Sunday, Northwestern heads to Lincoln to face fifth-ranked Nebraska, Illinois travels to Purdue, and Arizona State visits 18th-ranked Oklahoma.


Methodology: The NWCA Division I Men's Wrestling Coaches Poll is voted on by two coaches from each Division I wrestling conference. Each first-place vote is worth 25 points, 24 points for a second-place vote, 23 points for a third-place vote, and so on, through to one point for a 25th-place vote. The poll is based on dual meet results.
