INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA has released updated standings for the 2026 NCAA Men’s Wrestling Awards that will be awarded in March at the respective Division I, II and III Wrestling Championships.
The inaugural NCAA Men’s Wrestling Awards were presented at the 2012 wrestling championships. The three awards, given in each division, honor the Most Dominant Wrestler as well as the student-athletes that have accumulated the most falls and the most technical falls throughout the course of the regular and postseasons.
For falls and tech falls to be counted for the awards they must come against opponents in the same division (i.e. Division III vs. Division III). Ties in the two categories are broken based on the aggregate time.
Columbia’s 285-pounder Vincent Mueller still paces Division I with 11 falls in 20:32 on the season. Joe Curtis of Columbia and Malachi DuVall of George Mason round out the top three with 10 and nine, respectively.
In Division II, Glenville State’s Ethan Mitchell leads the way with 15 falls at 141-pounds. Ashland’s heavyweight Wyatt Bailey has 14, while Findlay’s heavyweight Giulian Bodiu has 12 in 16:07.
Leading out of Division III, at 184-pounds Sean Malenfant of Alfred State has earned 27 falls in 64:56. Next up is Clayton McDonough of Luther with 24 in 69:06. Elizabethtown’s 184-pounder Ganon Smith is at 23 in 55:08.
In Division I tech falls, Ohio State’s Ben Davino at 133-pounds continues with the lead over Franklin and Marshall’s 184-pounder James Conaway. Both are at 11 tech falls. Davino beats out Conway by aggregate time, 55:06 and 65:17, respectively.
David Hunsberger of Lander is out front in Division II with 101 tech falls on the season. Ethan Farnell of Indianapolis and Drew Stanfield both have eight. Farnell has a lower aggregate time at 26:17.
Division III highlights include 165-pounder Keegan Demarest of Messiah with 27 tech falls. Avery Leonard of Oneonta State is next in line with 18, right behind him is Tucker Seidel of Messiah with 17 in 45:10.
The initial Most Dominant Wrestler standings will be released later this season to allow wrestlers to achieve the minimum number of matches required to be eligible for the standings.
