Ferriter, Loethen, Snow headline U.S. Senior team at Beach World Series Katerini in Greece
by Gary Abbott, USA Wrestling
The United States is entering a 13-athlete team in Beach World Series Katerini on September 27-28 in Greece, the fourth of five Senior Beach World Series stops for the 2025 season.
The team will be led by the only two U.S. men who have ever won a season-long Beach World Series medal, Kyle Ferriter of Colorado at Over 90 kg and Ty Loethen of Missouri at 80 kg. Beach World medals are determined based upon points scored each season during the entire five-event Beach World Series.
Ferriter won a bronze medal at Men’s Over 90 kg in 2024, based upon points scored during that season. Ferriter has also won an individual Beach World Series medal, claiming a bronze medal at the 2024 Beach World Series Saint Laurent du Var in France.
So far this season, Ferriter has a No. 4 ranking at Over 70 kg, placing fourth in the first three Beach World Series events held in Mexico, Croatia and Morocco.
Loethen will be making his Beach World Series debut in 2025. He was the overall Beach World bronze medalist in 2023 in men’s 80 kg, based upon points scored that season.
Also competing on the men’s side is Bryan Coll of New York, who holds a No. 7 ranking at Men’s 70 kg so far this season. Coll has competed in two previous World Series events this year, led by his seventh place finish at Beach World Series Monterrey in Mexico.
Two champions from the 2025 California Beach Nationals in Huntington Beach will make their Beach World Series debut, Francis Morrissey of Georgia at 80 kg and Kyle Brown of Missouri at 90 kg.
On the women’s side, making her Senior-level debut will be Kennedie Snow of North Carolina, the only U.S. women’s Beach wrestler to boast two age-group World medals. Snow was a 2023 U17 Beach World champion and a 2024 U17 Beach World silver medal. Snow will also make her debut at the U20 Beach World Championships on Friday, then enter at the Senior level.
The top ranked U.S. women’s Beach wrestler who will be competing in Katerini is Erin Kremer of Washington, who holds a No. 13 World ranking at Over 70 kg. Kremer placed fifth at Beach World Series Casablanca in Morocco earlier this month.
Also competing for the U.S. women’s team in Greece is 2025 U.S. Senior Beach Nationals champion Adriana Gomez of Colorado.
The competition begins on Saturday, September 27 with Group competition, with session times of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. local time. The tournament concludes on Sunday, September 28, with the conclusion of the Group competition at 10:00 a.m., and with the elimination rounds and finals at 4:00 p.m. Katerini, Greece is seven hours ahead of U.S. Eastern time zone.
The tournament will be broadcast live on FloWrestling
