Day three medalists for Team USA at the 2025 Veteran World Championships in Tatabanya, Hungary.
TATABANYA, Hungary –The third day of action at the 2025 Veteran World Championships saw Team USA pick up a pair of champions in Division A—Brandon Precin at 62 kg and DeAndre Nunn at 100 kg—and secure its fifth-straight team title in men’s freestyle.
Precin was a standout performer for the U.S. on Thursday at Tatabanya Sport Hall. The three-time NCAA All-American at Northwestern posted a 3-0 record on his way to gold. He notably topped fellow American and defending champion Tyler Graff, who was a 2019 U.S. Senior World Team member, in the semifinals, 4-2. Precin earned a 6-2 decision over Amarbat Togtokhbayar of Mongolia in the gold medal match.
Graff, a four-time NCAA All-American and NCAA finalist at Wisconsin, rebounded from his loss to Precin to collect a bronze medal. He took out Amantay Nuradilov of Kazakhstan by 11-0 technical fall in the bronze medal match.
It was a perfect 4-0 outing for Nunn on his road to gold. Nunn was dominant in the preliminary rounds with 10-0 wins over Julien Angot of France and Salih Altinkaya of Türkiye, plus a nine-point win on Aibek Seiitbek Uulu of Kyrgyzstan. In the championship match, Nunn edged Bakhtiyar Izbassar of Kazakhstan, 2-1.
Three more Americans found a home on the medal stand, each winning bronze—Andy Lowy at 88 kg, Mingo Grant at 130 kg and Garret Johnson at 130 kg. Johnson was the defending champion in his weight class coming into the event.
The U.S. compiled 21 medals, including three champions, to finish atop the men’s freestyle combined team ranking for the fifth consecutive year. The U.S. earned 380 team points across all five divisions, finishing 23 points ahead of runner-up Kazakhstan. Hungary came in third place, well behind the top two on the scoreboard, with 213 team points.
