NEW YORK – The U.S. earned five gold medals in Greco-Roman at the 2025 Bill Farrell Memorial International, headlined by 2023 U.S. World Team member Zac Braunagel at 87 kg and two-time U20 World medalist Aden Attao at 130 kg.
Both Braunagel and Attao went undefeated in round robin brackets on the path to gold. Braunagel went 4-0 with four shutout technical falls, outscoring the field 34-0. Attao put forth two shutout technical falls to start and ended things with a pin in 2:30 on Jose Nunez Encarnacion of Dominican Republic to cap the tournament.
Other American champions included 2025 U23 World Team member Kenneth Crosby at 55 kg, three-time Pan American finalist and three-time age-group World Team member Randon Miranda at 60 kg and Amryn Nutter at 67 kg, who took gold in his first Senior-level event.
63 kg champion Ruslan Khamzin, a UWW athlete, was named Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament following a 6-4 win over Tino Ojala of Finland in the finals. Final weight class placements and medal match results are listed below.
Of the 10 weight classes contested, six were formatted in traditional straight-line brackets (55 kg, 60 kg, 63 kg, 72 kg, 77 kg and 82 kg). The remaining four weights had five or fewer entrants, pushing the participants into a round robin bracket (67 kg, 87 kg, 97 kg, 130 kg).
The tournament continues on Saturday at 10 a.m. (ET) with the men’s freestyle competition in all 10 international weight classes. Medal matches are scheduled for 4 p.m. (ET).
