Three Greco-Roman athletes will represent the U.S. at the upcoming Haparanda Cup in Haparanda, Sweden, including 2023 U.S. World Team member Zac Braunagel.
Braunagel, who is fresh off a gold medal win at the Bill Farrell Memorial International, is primed for a strong run at 87 kg this season. He sits in the No. 3 spot on the U.S. Senior National Team after a third-place finish at the 2025 CLAW U.S. Open.
Also competing at 87 kg is up-and-comer Aidan Squier, who was second at the 2025 U20 World Team Trials and was a 2025 U20 Nationals champion. Squier finished in seventh place at last year’s CLAW U.S. Open in the Senior division. He is a four-time Greco-Roman All-American at the U.S. Marine Corps Junior and 16U Nationals held in Fargo, N.D.
Rounding out the list of U.S. entrants is Jace Koelzer at 67 kg. Koelzer was sixth at the 2025 CLAW U.S. Open. He competed collegiately at Northern Colorado and Oklahoma, becoming an NCAA qualifier at both schools.
The Haparanda Cup will take place on December 6 at Haparanda Aspen Arena. The competition begins at 10 a.m. local time, with medal matches scheduled for 5 p.m. Haparanda, Sweden, runs six hours ahead of U.S. Eastern time.
