Wisconsin soars past Ohio to win men’s freestyle crown at 16U National Duals

Wisconsin after winning the men’s freestyle title at the 2025 16U National Duals.
HERRIMAN, Utah – Wisconsin entered the 2025 16U National Duals as the No. 7 overall seed in men’s freestyle. It ended with the top spot on in the standings with a stellar, nine-point win over top-seeded Ohio in the championship dual meet on Saturday evening at Zions Bank Real Academy.
Tomm Heiser, Reed Falk and AJ Woerpel led the way for The Badger State lineup, each securing a pin against Ohio. Others earning key wins for Wisconsin in the title match were Samuel Gehring, Kade Splinter, Connor Woosencraft, Lincoln Swick, Zahn Beal, Carson Neubert and Emmitt Becker.
Wisconsin finished with a 7-0 record on its way to first place. It had three wrestlers in its championship lineup go undefeated throughout the event—Swick at 113 pounds, Neubert at 138 pounds and Heiser at 175 pounds.
Finishing in third place was Minnesota Blue, who edged Pennsylvania Red by two points. Illinois cruised past Iowa, 49-27, in the fifth place dual. Indiana Gold escaped with a one-point win against Oklahoma Outlaws Blue for seventh place.
32 more teams battled it out for bragging rights in the Bronze/Copper, Red/Blue, Yellow/Green and Purple brackets. Final placements for every color pool are listed below.

USA Wrestling will announce the Men’s Freestyle All-Tournament Team, athletes who went undefeated with a minimum of five wins, at the conclusion of the event.
