Ohio Scarlet gets No. 1 seed, Illinois is No. 2 for 16U Freestyle National Duals

HERRIMAN, Utah - Weigh-ins are complete and the top 16 seeds have been set for the men’s freestyle competition at the 2025 16U National Duals in Herriman, Utah, which will be held on Friday and Saturday at the Zions Bank Real Academy.
The top 16 teams were determined based upon the aggregate style-specific PIN rankings of the athletes on the team, based upon the rules set in the Policies and Procedures for National Dual Championships
The top 16 seeds are:
1. Ohio Scarlet
2. Illinois
3. Team Indiana Gold
4. Pennsylvania Blue
5. Oklahoma Outlaws Blue
6. Iowa Blue
7. Wisconsin
8. Utah Gold
9. Minnesota Blue
10. Washington
11. Michigan Blue
12. Texas
13. Iowa Red
14. Team Missouri
15. California
16. Team Kansas
The tournament is split into four pools. Ohio Scarlet is the top seed in Pool A, Illinois is the top seed in Pool B, Team Indiana Gold is the top seed in Pool C. Pennsylvania Blue is top seed in Pool D. The rest of the seeds are being placed in the four pools based upon their ranking.

In 2024, California was the 16U men’s freestyle champion, defeating a tough Pennsylvania team 43-28 in the championship dual. Iowa defeated Indiana, 44-28 in the third-place match. Placing fifth was Wisconsin, 43-32 winner over Illinois in their medal mat. Utah Gold earned seventh place after stopping Georgia, 52-25.
Tickets for the event are available on site. All Session tickets are $50, with a $30 ticket for all Greco-Roman sessions and a $30 ticket for all men’s freestyle sessions.

8:00 AM to 12:30 PM – Freestyle round 1 (pigtails), round 2 (quarterfinals), round 3 (semifinals and consolations), round 4 (finals, consolations)
1:30 PM to 5:00 PM – Freestyle round 5 (consolations), round 6 (consolations), round 7 if needed
5:00 PM to 7:00 PM – Freestyle Round 1 of Gold/Silver, Bronze/Copper, Red/Blue and Green/Yellow pools
Saturday, June 14
8:30 AM to 1:30 PM – Freestyle pool rounds 2 & 3 and finals placement matches
