Morgan Turner named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week presented by Air Force Special Warfare

Morgan Turner (Chicago, Ill./All I See Is Gold Academy) has been named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by Air Force Special Warfare, on December 17, 2025.
The talented high schooler Turner excelled at the 2025 North Central College Invitational, one of the premier women’s college events on the calendar. She won four matches against top college competition on her way to the 110-pound title.
Turner’s signature wins of the event came against two past college national finalists. In the semifinals, Turner defeated three-time NAIA finalist and 2024 NAIA champion Mia Palumbo, 3-1. In the championship match, Turner emerged with a high-paced, 10-7, win over 2024 NCWWC finalist Kaelani Shufeldt of North Central College.
Turner has a lengthy resume of success, most notably headlined by her two U17 World titles. She is a three-time U17 World medalist with golds coming in 2023 and 2025, plus a bronze win in 2024.
Last season, Turner won two college open tournaments, the Warrior Women's Open and the Mike Duroe Invitational. She was a 2025 Junior Folkstyle Nationals champion, a 2025 U17 Pan American freestyle champion and a 2023 U16 Nationals freestyle champion. Turner was a 2023 National Girls High School Recruiting Showcase champion. She also claimed gold medals at the 2022 U15 Pan American Championships and 2021 U17 Pan American Championships.
Competing for Lockport High School in Illinois, she was a 2024 Illinois girls state champion. In 2023, she was placed in the Illinois 2A State Championships against boys at 106 pounds.
