USA Wrestling Partners with CoolMitt to Combat Paris Heat, Maximize Wrestler Performance at Summer Olympics

BOCA RATON, Fla. – USA Wrestling is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with CoolMitt®, following the successful integration of CoolMitt’s advanced cooling recovery technology during the Olympic Games in Paris, France.

This collaboration, initiated at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Wrestling in April, is designed to enhance the performance of USA Wrestling’s 350,000+ members.

CoolMitt’s technology, which effectively reduces muscle temperature when heat becomes a limiting factor, will enable USA Wrestling athletes to optimize their performance in both training and competition on a global scale.

Temperatures and humidity in Paris were high during the Olympic Games, presenting unique challenges for athlete recovery. CoolMitt is an effective tool for combatting these types of challenges, both during training and competition.

Designed and developed by Stanford University biologists, based on decades of research and funded by DARPA to assist U.S. soldiers in Iraq, CoolMitt accelerates the body’s natural ability to cool its core temperature. The patented device employs vasocooling technology to exchange excess heat through the hands with optimally cooled liquid that cools the body through the bloodstream.

Today, CoolMitt is used globally by hundreds of professional and collegiate athletes, members of the U.S. Special Forces and workers in extreme heat conditions. This summer, USA Wrestling joined athletes across the Olympic Games using the technology to combat heat, accelerate recovery and elevate their performance on the world’s biggest stage.
