Aeoden Sinclair named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week

Aeoden Sinclair (Edgerton, Wis./Askren Wrestling Academy) was named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week on September 6.


Sinclair won the boys main event on the 2023 FloWrestling’s Who’s Number One card at the UW-Parkside De Simone Arena in Kenosha, Wis. on Saturday, September 2.


In a battle of high school stars from Wisconsin, Sinclair, ranked No. 2 coming into the event, defeated No. 1 Connor Mirasola, 5-1 at 195 pounds.


There were no takedowns in the first period. Mirasola went down in the second period and Sinclair rode him for the entire period. In the third period, Sinclair went down and Mirasola cut him for a 1-0 lead. Sinclair scored a huge takedown to make it 4-0. Mirasola got an escape to close it to 4-1. Add in 2:39 in riding time for Sinclair for the final score. 


Sinclair is a junior at Milton High School in Wisconsin, where he has won two state titles. After his Who’s Number One victory, he moved up to No. 10 in the Flo Wrestling Pound-For-Pound rankings. He was a member of the 2023 U17 World Team, placing eighth in the U17 World Championships in freestyle at 92 kg. He won the 2023 U17 World Team Trials and was a 2022 16U Nationals champion in freestyle. Sinclair has committed to the University of Missouri.
