The 2023-2024 USA Wrestling season welcomes its premiere preseason event, the 2023 Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals & Boys National High School Recruiting Showcase.
Hosted in the vibrant city of Des Moines, Iowa, from October 27-29, this tournament promises an electrifying experience that combines top-notch wrestling action with an incredible opportunity for aspiring high school wrestlers to showcase their skills and catch the eyes of college recruiters!
The Brian Keck Preseason Nationals and Boys National High School Recruiting Showcase event will sell out in several divisions with registration capacity considered to fill up fast. Given the high demand and limited availability of slots, we strongly recommend registering early to ensure your participation. This tournament is anticipated to sell out quickly due to its reputation as a prime tournament to kick off the Folkstyle season. USA Wrestling does not charge for adjusting weight, even at weigh-ins.
In 2021, USA Wrestling created the National High School Recruiting Showcase series as an opportunity to let the top high school athletes showcase their talent among college coaches. Athletes who have qualified can enter the National High School Recruiting Showcase.
In 2021 and 2022, this event had 44 different states represented. The 2021 National High School Recruiting Showcase included 57 boys state champions from 36 different states. In the spring of 2022, the Boys National Recruiting Showcase featured over 125 state high school champions, Prep School champions or NHSCA All-Americans, plus numerous 2022 state place winners.
Note: The 2024 Girls National High School Recruiting Showcase, contested in Freestyle and will be held at South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa in Las Vegas, Nev., at the US Open event.
High School boys who are not qualified for the High School Recruiting Showcase should enter the 9th-10th or the 11th -12th grade divisions of the Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals.
The 2023-2024 USA Wrestling Membership year begins Aug. 21, 2023, and goes through Aug. 31, 2024. Athletes and coaches MUST have updated membership before registering for the Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals & Boys National High School Recruiting Showcase.
College coaches interested in attending are free of charge but must have a current USA Wrestling Membership for the 2023-2024 year. Coaches must be part of a college staff. Prior to receiving the credential, email Christina Hargrove at CHargrove@usawrestling.org to be added to the credential list of college coaches. You will be asked to show a college business card or be found on the institution’s website.

- USA Wrestling National All-American Place 1st-8th: (Preseason Nationals, Boys and Girls National High School Recruiting Showcase, Women’s Freestyle Nationals, Girls and Boys Folkstyle Nationals, and 16U/ Junior Nationals)
- U15 and U17 National Placer
- NHSCA Virginia Beach Placer (9th –12th grade Divisions ONLY)
