Sunday’s wrestling match between Penn State and Michigan postponed

The Penn State-Michigan State wrestling match scheduled for Sunday has been postponed. The universities mutually agreed to the postponement out of an abundance of caution surrounding the health and safety of the student-athletes, coaches and staff. The institutions will work with the Big Ten Conference to identify rescheduling options.

MICHIGAN STATE RELEASE


EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State’s wrestling match at Penn State scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 24, is being postponed, as mutually agreed upon by both teams due to student-athlete health and safety concerns.


The schools will work with the Big Ten Conference to identify options for rescheduling the match.


Michigan State’s next action is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 29 at Ohio State. The road stretch wraps up with a quad meet hosted by Indiana, taking on the host Hoosiers, along with Nebraska and Rutgers, on Saturday, Feb. 6. The Spartans then return home to host Purdue on Friday, Feb. 12, before wrapping up regular-season action with Michigan on Friday, Feb. 19.

Editor's Note: Penn State has not yet competed this year. Their first scheduled match at Rutgers on January 16 was also postponed.
