DES MOINES, Iowa - Nine different teams had individual champions at the Grand View Open, hosted Saturday by NAIA No. 4 Grand View University. It was one of the largest and most competitive tournaments so far this women’s college season
The only team with two individual champions was NAIA No. 3 Wayland Baptist
The 101-pound finals featured the top two ranked athletes in the NAIA. No. 1 Nina Pham of Wayland Baptist beat No. 2 ranked Elizabeth Dosado of the University of the Cumberlands, in a 10-0 technical fall.
Freshman Jordan Suarez of Wayland Baptist, ranked No. 12 in the NAIA won the 136-pound title with a 10-1 over No. 19 Andrea Schlabach of host Grand View.
Two of the individual champions were unranked freshmen who are quickly establishing themselves on the national college scene.
Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp of Midland, an unranked freshman from Hawaii, stopped the No. 1 ranked NAIA athlete in this weight class, Sydney Freund of Oklahoma City, 6-2 in the finals at 143 pounds.
Rayana Sahagun of Jamestown, an unranked freshman from Michigan, defeated NAIA No. 7 ranked won by Chloe Krebsbach of Grand View in the finals at 109 pounds, 5-3.
It was a great day for freshmen, as five of the 10 champions were college freshmen.
Freshman Camille Fournier of Texas Wesleyan, ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, defeated NAIA No. 10 Josie Bartishofski of Jamestown in a 15-2 technical fall at 116 pounds.
Freshman Nichole Moore of Baker University, ranked No. 14 in the NAIA, also won her 123-pound final by technical fall, stopping NAIA No. 10 Rebekah Cordova of Wayland Baptist, 11-0.
Bridgette Duty of the University of the Cumberlands, ranked No. 3 in the NAIA at 136 pounds, dropped down to 130 pounds and won the tournament, beating NAIA No. 4 Mea Mohler of Texas Wesleyan by pin in 4:43.
Host Grand View secured a champion, with sophomore Hunter Robinson, ranked No. 10 in the NAIA, stopped NAIA No. 4 Chamira Cooper of the University of the Cumberlands, 7-6 in the 170-pound finals.
Cierra Foster of Oklahoma City, ranked No. 3 in the NAIA at 143 pounds, moved up to 155 pounds and defeated NAIA No. 5 Morgan Mayginnes of Baker in the finals, 13-10.
The other individual champion was Agatha Andrews of the Jimmie WC, who pinned No.4 ranked Elisa Robinson of Baker in 3:19 in the 191 pound finals. Andrews attends Jamestown and is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA, but represented the club program in this open event.

Host Grand View secured a champion, with sophomore Hunter Robinson, ranked No. 10 in the NAIA, stopped NAIA No. 4 Chamira Cooper of the University of the Cumberlands, 7-6 in the 170-pound finals.
Cierra Foster of Oklahoma City, ranked No. 3 in the NAIA at 143 pounds, moved up to 155 pounds and defeated NAIA No. 5 Morgan Mayginnes of Baker in the finals, 13-10.
The other individual champion was Agatha Andrews of the Jimmie WC, who pinned No.4 ranked Elisa Robinson of Baker in 3:19 in the 191 pound finals. Andrews attends Jamestown and is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA, but represented the club program in this open event.
