USA Wrestling has announced the date and site for its Folkstyle Tour of America Salt Lake Slam, one of the most popular and successful youth folkstyle competitions each season.
The Salt Lake Slam will be held at the Legacy Events Center in Farmington, Utah, January 1-2, 2021.
It becomes the third Folkstyle Tour of America event added to the national schedule for the new wrestling season. The Folkstyle Tour of America provides high quality competition for boys and girls in a number of age levels.
The schedule and event details for the Salt Lake Slam are currently being finalized, but USA Wrestling wanted wrestling families to know about the event so they can make plans to attend. Updates will be posted on the Salt Lake Slam website, which is available at https://usawrestlingevents.com/event/2100005102
The event will be conducted following the requirements of the state and local health authorities, as well as using the safety provisions of the USA Wrestling Return to Events Guidelines. USA Wrestling and the local organizers will monitor data and local trends closely leading up to the event.
The event will be broadcast live on Trackwrestling, which is the broadcast home for all Folkstyle Tour of America competitions.
This will be the third major USA Wrestling event that will be scheduled for the Legacy Events Center, joining the completed Western States Championships, as well as the upcoming Bigfoot Battle.
The other USA Wrestling Folkstyle Tour of America events coming up include:
USA Wrestling Folkstyle Tour of America National Club Duals, Wisconsin Dells, Wis., October 16-18.
This event features dual meet competition for club programs, with divisions for boys and girls at both the high school and middle school levels. There has been a strong response to this event already. However, there are a few slots available in each of the tournaments, so interested clubs still have a chance to sign up.
