Match of the Day: Jimmy Kennedy defeats Coleman Scott in 2014 US Open finals

In the 2014 U.S. Open finals, Jimmy Kennedy knocked off 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Coleman Scott for the title at 61 kg/134 lbs. in men’s freestyle. It was the first of his eventual two U.S. Open titles.
Later that year, Kennedy, a three-time All-American for Illinois, secured a bid to the 2014 World Championships, winning the U.S. World Team Trials. At the World Championships, he turned in a top-10 finish for the USA.
In 2016, Scott wrapped up his career as a 2012 Olympic bronze winner and six-time National Team member. Now he serves as the head coach at the University of North Carolina.
