Match of the Day: Daton Fix and Thomas Gilman wrestle in the 2019 U.S. Open finals

Over the past few years, Daton Fix and Thomas Gilman have developed a fierce rivalry at 57 kg. Gilman defeated Fix to make the 2018 World Team and Fix returned the favor in 2019, defeating Gilman to make his first Senior World Team. Most recently, the pair met at the 2020 Matteo Pellicone in Rome, Italy, where Gilman came out on top and went on to win gold.
Both wrestlers have accomplished significant achievements competing internationally. Gilman is a 2017 World silver medalist and a 2014 Junior World bronze medalist. Fix is a 2017 Junior World champion, a 2016 and 2018 Junior World bronze medalist, a 2015 Cadet World bronze medalist and a 2014 Youth Olympic Games silver medalist.
