National Team member Taylor LaMont came into the 2020 Senior Nationals as the No. 1 seed at 60 kg. In the quarterfinals, he was upset by a red-hot Alex Thomsen, who went on to win the bracket.
However, LaMont bounced back with four shut-out technical falls in the consolation bracket to take third. In the consolation finals, he defeated Cal Bakerfield’s Chance Rich.
Rich entered the tournament unseeded and notched wins over No. 4 Liam Cronin, No. 5 Conor Knopick and No. 2 Randon Miranda. He will be a sophomore next season, while LaMont will be a junior competing for Utah Valley.
