1 Million Minutes. No Mat, No Problem Challenge

As of March 30 (at 10:18 ET) - 138,704 minutes logged (and rising)

"We started this national initiative two weeks ago when we realized that the safety of our athletes had to come before wrestling training. We wanted a way to engage our kids while also keeping them and the community healthy. We settled on daily challenges that would give our kids something to look forward to while also helping them cope with the new changes to their worlds. They lost the ability to see their friends, to escape reality for a couple hours during practice. Competitions and events they had looked forward to were cancelled or postponed and they lost direct access with their mentors and coaches. As wrestlers, we are used to adverse situations and are resilient in finding ways to make the best of a worst case scenario," said Emma Randall of Beat the Streets New York.

The top cities in minutes logged to date are: 1. Chicago (32,145), 2. Providence (30,920), 3. Bpston (22,236), 4. Los Angeles (24,621); 5. New York (14,985). There is no winner of this contest, because when people work out at home, everybody wins!!!

"We all know wrestling has the power to change lives and that the support of the wrestling community is like no other. We wanted to make sure that our athletes regardless of circumstance know that Beat the Streets is still there for them. Whether it’s a daily challenge, a virtual workout on zoom, or reaching out via call or text, we stay true to the kids we serve and the mission to positively impact their lives in this time of need," said Randall.

Help out. Work out at home. Join our young Beat the Streets wrestlers and let's get up to 1 million minutes!!!
