Led by five champions, Arizona State wins Pac-12 team title, with host Stanford in second

PALO, ALTO, Calif. – Led by five individual champion, Arizona State won its 19th Pac-12 wrestling title, outscoring 2019 champion and host Stanford by 19.5 points in the standings.
Individual Sun Devil champions were Brandon Courtney (125), Jacori Teemer (157), Anthony Valencia (174), Kordell Norfleet (197) and Tanner Hall (285).
Valencia won his third Pac-12 title, after winning in 2017 and 2018. Norfleet was a 2018 Pac-12 champion as a freshman. Hall was a 2017 Pac-12 champion as a sophomore.
Stanford won had a pair of individual champions, freshman Real Woods (141) and sophomore Shane Griffith (165).
Griffith won the battle between a pair wrestlers ranked in the nation’s top six, defeating Arizona State’s Josh Shields, 3-0.
Cal-State Bakersfield, which placed third as a team, had a pair of individual champions, Russell Rohlfing (149) and Josh Loomer (184).
The other individual champions was Oregon State’s Devan Turner at 133 pounds, and the Beavers placed fourth.
Cal Poly placed fifth and Little Rock was sixth. Little Rock, in its first year as a wrestling program, had a Pac-12 runner-up at 133 pounds in Paul Bianchi. The conference has 16 automatic NCAA qualifiers.
