Over the years, Kendrick Sanders has established himself as a fierce competitor on the Greco scene across numerous weight classes. In 2019, for the second time in his career, Sanders claimed a U.S. Open title. He won his first title in 2014.
Sanders ran through the bracket as the No. 6 seed knocking off former World Team member Jon Jay Chavez and eventual 2019 World Team member John Stefanowicz on his way to the finals. There he would face his Northern Michigan and NYAC teammate Spencer Woods. A promising up-and-coming wrestler, Woods made his way to the finals unseeded in the bracket.
