Match of the Day: Thomas Gilman and David Terao wrestle in the 2011 Fargo Junior Freestyle finals
by USA Wrestling
Often times, individuals that make the finals at Fargo go on to achieve even greater things in wrestling. Both wrestlers that reached 2011 Junior Freestyle finals at 119 pounds prove that point.
Thomas Gilman went on to become an Iowa Hawkeye, finishing his college career as a three-time All-American. Post-collegiately, Gilman would have even more success, earning a World silver medal in 2017 and finishing fifth in 2018.
David Terao wrestled collegiately for American University, where he was a four-time NCAA qualifier, two-time round-of-12 finisher and a 2016 fourth-place All-American. He would end his college career as American’s all-time win leader with 130 victories.
