Virginia Duals National High School Division semifinals set, as top four seed advance on day one

HAMPTON, Va. – The semifinals have been set in the National High School division at the Virginia Duals, with all four of the top seeds powering through their preliminary and quarterfinal rounds.
Virginia Duals National High School Semifinal pairings (with seeds)
No. 1 Nazareth (PA) vs. No. 4 McDonough (MD)
No. 2 Erie Cathedral Prep (PA) vs. No. 3 Canon-McMillan (PA)
Nazareth scored an impressive 59-0 shutout over No. 8 seed Oscar Smith (VA) in their quarterfinal, winning all 14 matches, including eight with bonus points. McDonough put together a strong 48-22 win over No. 5 seed Smyrna in the other top-half bracket quarterfinal.
Nazareth is No. 29 in the newest Trackwrestling high school rankings, while McDonough is ranked No. 33 by Trackwrestling.
The bottom half bracket featured solid quarterfinal wins. No. 2 Erie Cathedral Prep (PA) got bonus points in six matches on the way to a 41-30 win over No. 7 seed Camden Catholic (NJ). No. 3 seed Canon-Macmillan (PA), swept the five lightest weight classes and went on to beat No. 8 seed South Dade (FL), 38-31.
The semifinals in the other two high school divisions have also been set.

The semifinals in all three high school divisions are set for 2:00 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, with the finals in all three divisions at 8:30 p.m. ET. The event can be followed live on Trackwrestling.
