#FreestyleFriday: Relive Kyle Snyder’s World and Olympic medal-winning matches
by Taylor Miller, USA Wrestling
A three-time NCAA champion, Kyle Snyder has become one of the faces of USA Wrestling over the last five years.
Beginning his Senior international career in 2015, Snyder represented the USA at the World Championships, winning the gold at 97 kg. He had a stronghold over the weight class for the next couple of years, claiming an Olympic title in 2016 and his second World title in 2017.
Snyder’s win in 2017 was one of the most iconic moments in USA Wrestling history as Snyder bested 2016 Olympic champion at 86 kg Abdulrashid Sadulaev of Russia. His win was the deciding factor in deciding the team race as Team USA defeated Russia for first place.
Snyder collected a silver and a bronze medal, respectively, at the 2018 and 2019 World Championships.
