Bernie Truax shocked the field at the 2020 Junior Nationals when he defeated two-time Cadet World bronze medalist Alex Facundo in the 74 kg quarterfinals. Truax, a 2020 NCAA qualifier as a redshirt freshman for Cal Poly, went on to win the bracket, while Facundo, one of top high school prospects in the country currently committed to Penn State, finished third.
