Cameron Caffey had a busy weekend at the U23 Nationals in Omaha, Nebraska last month. Caffey, a 2020 NWCA First-Team All-American for Michigan State, won the 87 kg Greco-Roman bracket and finished third in the U23 men’s freestyle bracket. He was one of only two wrestlers to place in both styles in the U23 division.
In the finals, Caffey faced four-time Division III All-American Guy Patron Jr. of Loras College. Patron had an impressive run to the finals, pinning former U23 World Team member George Sikes in the quarterfinals and earning a technical fall over former Junior World Team member Bear Hughes in the semis.
