With the 2020-21 academic year beginning in high schools across the nation, USA Wrestling, FloWrestling and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame are reaching out to girls high school wrestlers and their families for information concerning the 2020-21 National Girls High School Rankings.
The committee has compiled a watch list of athletes who are being considered for the national rankings. This list, which has been updated after last year’s seniors graduated, has approximately 2,000 athletes being tracked for achievements.
There is some key information needed as we head into the new season. The committee wants to be absolutely certain about correct spelling of each athlete, what high school they now attend and their year in school. With very few competitions since March 2020, knowing the projected weight class for the 2020-21 season is very important. Tracking any new achievements is also important.
The committee is especially interested in data on talented incoming freshmen for the 2020-21 year, who could have the ability and results to justify being in the rankings. Emails will be sent directly to some athletes/families who have been previously included on the watch list.
Since the high school season has changed substantially in many states, the schedule for this year’s rankings has not been set. However, the committee is working to publish a preseason ranking as early as possible, since the last ranking prior to the pandemic was in March 2020. Below is the requested information from athletes, coaches and/or families. Also below is the general evaluation process used by the committee. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
