Match of the Day: Spenser Mango and Ellis Coleman wrestle at the 2010 Beat the Streets Gala
by USA Wrestling
At the 2010 Beat the Streets Gala, the first major Beat the Streets fundraiser, a card of seven matches took place on the aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Intrepid.
One of the matches featured Greco veteran Spenser Mango, a 2006 World University champion, a 2008 Olympian and two-time Senior World Team member squaring off with Ellis Coleman, a talented up-and-comer on the scene.
A decade later, Mango is now one of the coaches with the Army World Class Athlete Program after a highly successful career where he competed in two Olympic Games and six Senior World Championships. Coleman is currently an athlete for the Army WCAP and a two-time Junior World bronze medalist and four-time Senior World Team member.
While a good portion of their careers overlapped, the pair did not wrestle again due to Mango competing primarily at 55 and 59 kg and Coleman competing at 66/67 kg.
