Save the Date!!! Beat the Streets in New York City is asking the wrestling community to place Thursday, September 17 on the calendar for its annual fundraising event, which will be conducted as a Virtual Telethon.
This throwback format will provide opportunities for wrestling enthusiasts to enjoy live and recorded segments from wrestling legends and leaders which will entertain and inspire, while helping raise funds for thousands of deserving youth wrestlers across New York City.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Beat the Streets postponed its “Grapple at the Garden” competition and Gala this spring. The BTS Virtual Telethon is designed to bring wrestling people back together in a unique way, all for a great cause.
Serving as Co-Emcees for the Telethon are two-time World champion and 2016 Olympic bronze medalist J’den Cox and two-time World bronze medalist and the founder of Wrestle Like A Girl, Sally Roberts.
The Telethon is expected to run for around 90 minutes, and will have a variety of different features including prominent athletes, coaches and celebrities.
The Beat the Street leadership is currently developing these segments and will announce the stars who have committed to the project. Organizers are considering some live wrestling action as part of the show, focusing on talented athletes of different ages.
The Beat the Streets Virtual Telethon is only six weeks away. Save the Date of September 17 and stay tuned as Beat the Streets announces more details about this innovative program.
