Steve Fraser made history at the 1984 Olympic Games in Las Angeles, Calif., becoming the first U.S. Greco-Roman wrestler to win an Olympic gold medal.
Fraser, a two-time All-American at the University of Michigan, had an uphill battle to make the finals given that he had to go through Frank Andersson of Sweden. Andersson was a three-time Senior World champion and five-time World finalist.
