Upperweights pave way for Pennsylvania Blue's 14U Greco-Roman National Duals title over Minnesota Red, 47-30

Indianapolis, Indiana- Yesterday, Pennsylvania Blue defeated returning U14 Greco-Roman champions, Illinois in the pool semifinals, 54-23. Today, they earned the U14 National Duals Greco-Roman title by defeating Minnesota Red, 47-30.
Starting at 90 pounds, Devin Magro got things rolling for Team Pennsylvania with a 10-0 technical fall. Magro hit two four-point throws, and a gut wrench in the first thirty seconds of the match to earn the victory.
Minnesota took the next two matches, with Landon Robideau grinding out a 4-3 win, and Leonard Tukhlynovych earning a clutch 10-0 technical fall.
Kamdyn Williams turned the tide back in Pennsylvania’s favor with a 5-2 decision. Mason Gibson would follow it up with a 12-0 technical fall, ending the match with a four-point chin whip. Nicholas Kunstek kept the ball rolling for Team Pennsylvania with a 6-1 victory.
Pierson Manville put an abrupt stop to Pennsylvania’s momentum with a 17 second fall off a tilt at 119 pounds. This brought the team score to 15-14 with Pennsylvania holding the one-point lead.
The teams traded the next two bouts with Pennsylvania’s Dylan Evans winning 5-0, and then Minnesota’s Kyler Wong earning a 14-5 victory.
At 136 pounds, Bekhruz Sadriddinov Navruzov of Pennsylvania claimed a come from behind victory on the strength of a chain of second period gut wrenches, 9-7. Cole Han-Lindemyer answered for Minnesota with a 12-1 technical fall.
Once again, Pennsylvania held onto a one-point lead, 23-22. However, Pennsylvania’s upper weights came through in a big way, earning three pins in a row. Tucker Hogan claimed the first at 165 pounds, followed by Sonny Sasso at 187 pounds and Dominick Curci at 250 pounds.
Following the big men, Trey Wagner stretched Pennsylvania’s lead with a 15-4 technical fall at 71 pounds.
Minnesota would claim the next two matches with Logan Swensen taking a 5-1 decision, followed by Riley Graber earning a 3-1 decision.
Pennsylvania’s Landon Bainey would close out the dual at 87 pounds with a 3-2 victory to make the final score 47-30.
With the Greco-Roman portion of the U14 National Duals concluded, men’s freestyle pool action will kick off tomorrow, broadcast live on TrackWrestling.
