FORT WORTH, Texas – The Greco-Roman finals are set at all six Olympic weights at the U.S. Senior Nationals in Fort Worth, Texas. The gold-medal matches will take place on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT.

By reaching the finals, the athletes have guaranteed themselves a top-two finish and a berth to the 2020 Olympic Trials, which are set for April 4-5 at Penn State. There was at least one new qualifier at each weight except 130 kg, where both finalists had already qualified prior to this event.

One of the most notable performances of the day came at 77 kg, where 2010 Senior World Team member Jake Fisher made an impressive run to get to the finals.

Earlier in the day, Fisher knocked off 2018 Junior World silver medalist and seventh-ranked Andrew Berreyesa as well as multiple-time National Team member and No. 2 seed Peyton Walsh, respectively, to earn a bid to the semifinals. There, he took out 2018 World Team member RaVaughn Perkins with an impressive 10-0 shutout to not only land a spot in the finals but also qualify for the 2020 Olympic Team Trials.

In tomorrow’s finals, Fisher will take on 2017 Junior World champion and 2018 Senior World Team member Kamal Bey.

2019 U.S. Open champion Leslie Fuenffinger finds himself in the National finals for the second time this calendar year. For the 60 kg gold, Fuenffinger will face National Team member Sam Jones.

Alejandro Sancho is back at full force after taking the majority of last season off for Army basic training. With three falls earlier in the day, Sancho ended his day with a 5-0 decision against 2018 U23 World Team member Nolan Baker to get to the finals. Tomorrow, he will face Calvin Germinaro, who entered the tournament as the No. 6 seed. Germinaro had an outstanding day, defeating a past World champion in Joe Warren, a Junior World medalist in Peyton Omania and a current National Team member in Michael Hooker to move onto the finals.

At 87 kg, three-time World Team member Patrick Martinez will battle 2015 Pan American Games champion Jon Anderson for the title. Collectively, Martinez and Anderson have only given up three points today.

There will be No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchups at 97 kg and 130 kg.

At 97 kg, National Team members Lucas Sheridan and Daniel Miller will go head-to-head for the crown. Within the last year, the two have wrestled each other five times, with Sheridan holding a 3-2 advantage in the series.

The 130 kg finals feature No. 1 Cohlton Schultz and No. 2 Jacob Mitchell, who were both already qualified for Olympic Team Trials entering the tournament.

Schultz, a 2017 Cadet World champion and two-time Junior World medalist, won a 14-2 technical fall over West Cathcart in the semifinals, while Mitchell defeated Army WCAP teammate Toby Erickson, 6-1, to earn a spot in the gold match.

The finals will take place Saturday at 7 p.m. CT live on FloWrestling.org.
