SOFIA, Bulgaria – The USA wrapped up its 2019 Cadet World Championships on Sunday afternoon with the end of its Greco-Roman competition in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Tyler Hannah, competing at 92 kg, completed his tournament as he fell in repechage.

Hannah faced 2019 Cadet Asian champion Saied Karimizadeh of Iran in his first repechage match. Hannah was on the board first with a step out but the Iranian scored two step outs of his own for a 2-1 lead at the break.

In the second period, Hannah was dinged for passivity and put down in par terre. From there, Karimizadeh picked up two on a gut wrench, then the American scored on a reversal.

Ultimately, Karimizadeh took the win, 5-2, ending Hannah’s tournament.

Overall, the U.S. Greco-Roman team finished in 19th place with 12 team points.
