LaMont, Omania, Dow, Berreyesa and Porter receive draws for 2018 Junior Worlds in Slovakia

TRNAVA, Slovakia – The other five members of the U.S. Junior Greco-Roman World Team received their draws for the 2018 Junior World Championships in Trnava, Slovakia, and will take to the mat on Tuesday morning.

Competing tomorrow is 2016 Junior World bronze medalist and six-time age-group World Team member Taylor LaMont at 60 kg, Fargo champions Peyton Omania at 67 kg, Tyler Dow at 72 kg and Andrew Berreyesa at 82 kg and international newcomer Chad Porter at 97 kg.

Utah Valley’s LaMont drew 2018 Junior Asian champion Galym Kabdunassaro of Kazakhstan, who finished 11th at last year’s Junior World Championships. LaMont took fifth in 2017.

To open his tournament at 67 kg, Omania of Michigan State will face 2016 Junior bronze medalist and four-time Junior African champion Mohamed Ibrahim Elsayed of Egypt. Elsayed has also competed in three African Championships at the Senior level and owns two gold and one silver from the event.

At 72 kg, Wisconsin’s Dow will take on 2017 Cadet European silver medalist Gergely Bak of Hungary.

Berreyesa of Cornell will start action at 82 kg against Simone Fidelbo of Italy, who competed at the City of Sassari Tournament earlier this year, finishing fifth.

Arizona State wrestler Chad Porter faces off against 2018 University World silver medalist Ilija Laurynovich of Belarus at 97 kg.

Tuesday morning’s action is set for 9:30 a.m. local time (3:30 a.m. ET). Fans can watch all the action live on Trackwrestling.com.
