HAVANA, Cuba - The initial draws have been established for the 2018 Granma Cup as 12 Americans are slated for entry into the two-day Greco-Roman competition held in Cuba's capitol city.

Leading the U.S. contingent are 2017 Junior World champion Kamal Bey (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) and two-time U.S. World Team member Patrick Martinez (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC).

Bey is slotted to wrestle at 77 kg/170 lbs. and will see fellow American Ryan Cummings in the first round tomorrow. Martinez opens his day at 87 kg/191.4 lbs. against Geovanis Carreras of Cuba.

U23 World Team members Dalton Robert (Fowlerville, Mich./New York AC) and Alejandro Sancho (Miami, Fla./ New York AC) will take the mat at 60 kg/132 lbs. and 67 kg/147 lbs., respectively. Both men open with Cuban opponents, Roberts challenging 2016 Pan American champion Javier Dumenigo and Sancho battling Miquel Martinez.

The U.S. trio of Hayden Zillmer (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm), Enock Francois (Ithaca, N.Y./New York AC) and Micah Burak (Colorado Springs, Colo./Titan Mercury WC) will represent at 97 kg/213 lbs. Zillmer and Francois are pitted against one another in the opening round. Burak sits on the opposite side of the bracket against Pablo Reinier of Cuba.

Budding stars Kevin Radford and Nick Boykin both open with stout opponents from Hungary in the morning. Radford, a 2017 Dave Schultz Memorial International silver medalist, starts his day at 87 kg against reigning U23 World champion Erik Szilvassy. The remaining U.S. competitors are Brian Alonzo at 55 kg/121 lbs. and Logan Kass at 72 kg/158 lbs., with both expected to face relatively unknown Cuban opponents.

The competition is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. (ET) tomorrow with weigh-ins followed by the qualification and repechage rounds of wrestling at 10 a.m. The medal matches will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
