USA Wrestling will post regular updates on the athletes who have qualified for the Final X Series, which determines the 2018 U.S. World Teams in men’s and women’s freestyle.

There are three Final X events, Final X in Lincoln on June 9, Final X in State College on June 16 and Final X at Lehigh at June 23. The winners of these events will compete for the United States at the World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary in October.

The other major qualifying events for Final X are the 2018 U.S. Open in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 26-28, and the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament for men’s and women’s freestyle, set for Rochester, Minn., May 18-20.

The qualifiers on this list are determined based upon the approved 2018 World Team Trials Qualification and Procedures for men’s freestyle and women’s freestyle

In 2018, United World Wrestling expanded to 10 weight classes for the World Championships in all styles.

At this time, there are eight wrestlers who have qualified for one of the Final X events. In addition, 62 wrestlers have qualified for the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in these two styles.

The next qualifying event for the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament is U.S. Open in Las Vegas, Nev., April 26-28. This is the largest qualifier for the Final X Series, with up to seven in each weight class in men’s freestyle and five in each weight class in women’s freestyle eligible to advance to the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament.
