2017-18 Senior National Team member Kayla Miracle was among the top stars who tried out for the U23 World Team at the Trials event in Rochester, Minn. Miracle, a World medalist on the Cadet and Junior levels, reached the best-of-three finals against past Cadet World champion Teshya Alo at 60 kg. Due to a medical issue, Alo did not compete in the first match of the series. In the second round, however, Alo had been cleared to compete, and Miracle beat her 11-3 to make the team. Miracle, a three-time WCWA champion for Campbellsville Univ., will attempt to win a World medal at a new age group. Cover photo by Mark Lundy.
