Canada’s Takahashi replaces Japan’s Nakamura, to wrestle Tony Ramos at Beat the Streets Benefit

NEW YORK – The Beat the Streets Benefit being held in Times Square on Wednesday evening will have one last-minute lineup change with Canada’s Steven Takahashi filling in for Japan’s Rinya Nakamura at 57 kg/125.5 lbs.
Takahashi, a 2016 World University bronze medalist, agreed to participate at the Beat the Streets Benefit on short notice after it was determined Nakamura could not compete. He will take on two-time U.S. World Team member Tony Ramos.
In addition to his World University medal from last year, Takahashi has performed admirably for Canada at the Pan American Championships, winning bronze medals in 2011, 2014 and 2015. He also competed at the 2014 World Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The Beat the Streets Benefit will begin at 3 p.m. (ET) tomorrow with youth exhibition matches, followed by the NYC PSAL Girls Dual Meet Championships at 4:45 p.m. (ET) and the Team USA versus Team Japan dual meet at 6 p.m. (ET).
All the action from Times Square will be broadcast live on Flowrestling.com. It will be the third-straight year Flowrestling will broadcast the prestigious international event.
