2017 Junior National Greco-Roman Duals All-Tournament Team announced

TULSA, Okla. – The 2017 Junior National Greco-Roman All-Tournament team was announced following the conclusion of this year’s competition.


There were 33 athletes on the All-Tournament Team, representing 19 different states.


The state with the most All-Tournament Team members is Kansas with four, followed by Washington, Ohio and Michigan with three. Five states had two All-Tournament Team members in Greco-Roman: Colorado, Utah, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and North Dakota.


The best individual record in Greco-Roman was 8-0, which was achieved by eight athletes: Aizayha Yaccapin of Washington (106), Brendon Garcia of Colorado (106), Cody Phippen of Missouri (120), Phillip Moomey of Nebraska (126), Anthony Artalona of Florida (152), Tate Samuelson of Colorado (170), Owen Brown of Georgia (170) and Brandon Metz of North Dakota (285).


The weight class with the most All-Tournament Team members was 170 pounds with six, including Tate Samuelson of Colorado, Owen Brown of Georgia, Jake Allar of Minnesota, Noah Jakubas of Michigan, Clay Lautt of Kansas and Daniel Butler of Kansas.


To make the All-Tournament Team, an athlete must go undefeated for the two days of the tournament in that style, with a specific minimum number of matches.


The Junior National Duals conclude with the freestyle division on Friday and Saturday.
