Olympian, coach and referee Chuck Yagla on making the Wrestling Hall of Fame as Distinguished Member

National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Member. Yagla was a two-time NCAA champion for the University of Iowa and named Outstanding Wrestler at the NCAA Championships. He was a talented freestyler, making the 1980 U.S. Olympic Team that did not compete at the Moscow Games due to a U.S. government boycott. Yagla coached college and freestyle wrestling. He went on to become one of the nation's best college wrestling referees, and was previously inducted into the Hall of Fame as a Meritorious Official. For combining a career of excellence in many aspects of wrestling, Yagla has reached the highest honor in our sport with his Hall of Fame induction.
