FARGO, N.D. – Cadet World Team members Caitlyn Walker, Emily Shilson, Olivia Shore and Kelani Corbett advanced to the semifinals of the U.S. Marine Corps Women’s Freestyle Cadet Nationals.

The semis are set for Tuesday morning, starting at 9 a.m. CT. The finals will follow soon after at 11 a.m. All the action can be seen live on Flowrestling.org.

2016 Fargo Junior and Cadet national champion and 2017 Junior and Cadet Folkstyle Nationals champion Shilson of Minnesota breezed by California’s Melissa Lee in the 94-pound quarterfinals with a first-period 12-2 technical fall.

She’ll face Genesis Quirarte of California in the semis. On the other side, Taryn Martin of Ohio and Caitlyn Walker of Pennsylvania.

Walker, returning 2016 Cadet freestyle national champion, notched a 10-0 tech over California’s Lizette Rodriguez.

At 100 pounds, Shore dominated in her first two matches, picking up 10-0 tech falls over Emalie Olson of Missouri and Hailey Ward of California. Both wins came in the first period. Shore is set to go head-to-head with California’s Sofia Martinez in the semis.

Hailing from Hawai’i, Corbett looks to improve on her fifth-place finish from 2016. Receiving a bye in the first round, Corbett spent only 32 seconds on the mat, thanks to a big pin over Persian Singh from New York in the 152-pound quarterfinals. She’ll face Colorado’s Tristan Kelly tomorrow morning.

Joining Shilson and Walker as returning Fargo champs is 2016 Cadet World bronze medalist Macey Kilty. Fresh off a Cadet Pan American gold medal, she recorded three wins on Monday, outscoring her opponents 27-0. Her semifinals opponent is Kaylee Moore of Washington at 127 pounds.

With her quarterfinals win over Destiny Bailey of New Mexico, Bayleigh Heiman became the first female wrestler at any level for the state of Arkansas to earn All-America status in Fargo. She’ll face Sarah Conner of Oregon in the 132-pound semis.

There are 26 states represented in tomorrow’s semifinals, with California, Wisconsin and Illinois each putting five wrestlers through. Texas sends four women to the semis.
