A large U.S. women’s team set to compete in the Klippan Lady Open, Feb. 17-19

Leading the Senior women’s freestyle team, will be three-time National Team member and four-time U.S. Open champion Whitney Conder (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) at 53 kg/116.5 lbs. Conder is the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials runner-up
Competing at 55 kg/121 lbs. is 2016 Junior World bronze medalist Becka Leathers (Choctaw, Okla./Titan Mercury WC). Leathers was a 2016 WCWA National champion at Oklahoma City University. In 2015, she was a bronze medalist at the Klippan Lady Open.
2016 U.S. Olympic Trials runner-up and 2014 Junior World bronze medalist Victoria Francis (Litchfield, Ill./Titan Mercury) will be competing at 75 kg/165 lbs. Francis was a two-time WCWA National champion at Lindenwood.
2016 Junior World bronze medalist and two-time Junior World Team member Alexis Porter (Ballston Lake, N.Y./NYAC/Bearcat WC) is joining the team at 63 kg/138.75 lbs.
Maya Nelson (Denver, Colo./Sunkist Kids) will wrestle at 63 kg/138.75 lbs. Nelson is a two-time Junior World Team member and the 2016 Junior World bronze medalist.
Wrestling at 48 kg/105.5 lbs. is two-time University National champion Erin Golston (Colorado Springs, Colo./NYAC). Golston was a bronze medalist at the Klippan two years ago. She is also a three-time Junior World medalist.
Two-time World Team member and 2017 U.S. Open champion Jenna Burkert will be competing at 60 kg/132 lbs.
Joining the team at 63 kg/138.75 lbs is National Team member and 2016 WCWA National champion Mallory Velte (63 kg/138.75 lbs.). Velte is a two-time National champion at Simon Fraser University
Competing at 53 kg/116.5 lbs. is 2015 Cadet World Champion Ronna Heaton (Brookings, S.D./Sunkist Kids). Heaton was also a Cadet World silver medalist in 2016.
Leading the Cadet women’s freestyle team at 52 kg/115 lbs. is 2016 Cadet World bronze medalist and Cadet National champion Macey Kilty (Stratford, Wisc.).
The Walker sisters, Caitlynn (Hatboro, Pa.) at 40 kg/88 lbs. and Amanda (Hatboro, Pa) at 49 lbs. will be joining the team. Caitlynn was the 2016 Cadet National champion. Amanda was the 2016 Junior National runner-up.
2016 Junior National champion Hailey Cancelleri (Staton Island, N.Y.) will be competing at 70 kg/154 lbs.
Wrestling at 56 kg/124 lbs. is 2016 Junior National runner-up Michaela Beck (New York, N.Y.). This is Beck’s second appearance at the tournament. Her first was in 2015 where she was a bronze medalist.
