UPDATE: Orr drops only bout as lone U.S. entry on day one of Veterans Greco-Roman Worlds in Finland

SEINAJOKI, Finland – The USA had one entry on the first day of the Veterans World Greco-Roman Championships on Friday, Louis Orr of Minnesota, who dropped his only bout of the day and was not eligible for the repechage rounds.
Competing at 85 kg in Div. D, Orr was edged in his opening match by Hasan Ozdemir of Turkey, 2-1. Ozdemir was defeated in the semifinals, falling short of the finals, which eliminated Orr from the tournament.
Friday’s competition was in Div. C (46-50 years old) and Div. D. (51-55 years old)
This story will be updated with the list of champions in Div. C and Div. D, as well as the U.S. pairings for Saturday when the information becomes available.
Saturday’s competition will be in Div. B (41-45 years old) and Div. E (56-60 years old).
