USA Wrestling's Folkstyle Tour of America returns for the 2016-17 season with six world-class events for youth wrestlers.
All five of the events from last year are back, along with the return of a popular event which was part of the series in the past. The Southern Grind has returned, which will be held in Cartersville, Ga., and will be hosted January 21-22.
The six events are located all around the nation, offering top competition that is accessible to young wrestlers and their families. Tour of America stops are in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Georgia and Wisconsin. Make your plans now to get in on the action in the best youth folkstyle series in the country!
Last year, there were a combined 4,237 entries during the Folkstyle Tour of America, featuring athletes from every region of the nation. With the addition of the Southern Grind, along with increased participation and excitement for the existing events, it is expected to be a record year for this series.
All Folkstyle Tour of America events earn points in USA Wrestling’s Future Olympian Rankings.
The Folkstyle Tour of America series has brand new logos, which are not only more attractive but also help promote and brand these important events as part of the USA Wrestling events program.
USA Wrestling’s folkstyle program concludes with the 2017 USA Wrestling Cliff Keen Athletic Folkstyle National Championships, which return to the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa, March 31 – April 2.
Registration has already begun for the first four Folkstyle Tour of America events. Sign up right away, as some of these events are capped at a specific number of entries and fill up quickly.
